• Question: is it true that a charger has a capacitor

      Most of our electronics if not all have atleast a capacitor. acapacitor in electronics such as a charger are meant to store energy in an electric field. and a capacitor is made up of two plates separated from each other by some dielectric material.

      If you look at the rest of the diagram for chargers, you will see that the ground symbol is used for all of the circuit blocks. In other words, the ground symbol is the negative common wire for all of the circuit blocks.
      The reason for the capacitor (input capacitor) is to ensure that the chip is stable and doesn’t oscillate. This input capacitor (and the output capacitor) needs to be physically located close to the chip in the charger under normal constructions of chargers
